Training Log 6-Feb-2023

Today, the programming was for a 30 minute easy zone 2 run + an upper body strength workout. The weather was warm (for New Hampshire in early February) and sunny, so 30 minutes wasn't going to cut it. I needed more time outside, so opted to do an easy hike up to Linda's Lookout on PrkrMtn and then jog back, just over 4 miles.

I headed into the gym after that to do the strength work, then rollout + heat for both upper legs. IT band, you see. The IT band is not painful at all, but it's been the problem for me in past training cycles. I can feel it acting up just a little bit lately, mostly the right leg, but a little on the left side, too.

Finishing heat now, then I'll roll them out again before heading for bed tonight.

Tomorrow, the plan is an early bag of the Hancocks at speed. How at speed? I don't know for sure. I've done the Hancocks in ~3:15 before, and the trails should support that. NETC intel says I'm going to need spikes, snowshoes, and crampons depending on where I am on the loop. That translates to an annoyingly high pack weight, since I'll have to haul a full load of water plus winter emergency survival gear. If could get it done in 4 hours, I'd be pretty happy.
